We held a welcome back meeting for our members on Monday, Feb 11. We saw some new faces joining the pro-life cause on Harvard’s campus, discussed what events we wanted to put on over the next year, and made sure everyone knew our new board members. Highlights included a push to sidewalk counsel at a planned parenthood again, a desire to broaden our focus to all pro-life issues, not just abortion, and insomnia cookies.
On February 28th, we heard about the intellectual components of the ongoing crisis in American culture from Erika Bachiochi, a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School and a Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington DC. She is a legal scholar specializing in Equal Protection jurisprudence, feminist legal theory, Catholic school teaching, and sexual ethics.
Thank you for coming Erika!
Ed Gillespie spoke to us about the intersection of politics and pro-life advocacy on March 28, 2018.
Ed Gillespie, former chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Counselor to the President under George W. Bush, will speak on the topic of being pro-life in politics.
Ed Gillespie has been a national and state Republican Party chairman, top White House and Congressional aide, Republican nominee for both the U.S. Senate and Governor in his home state of Virginia, and founder of three successful businesses.
As Republican National Committee chairman in the 2004 election cycle, Gillespie became the first GOP chairman to preside over his party’s winning the White House, House and Senate in 80 years. In 1984, he was a principal drafter of the Contract with America, which led to Republicans winning control of the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years.
Gillespie has been successful in the private sector, where he provides strategic communications advice to CEOs and major corporations.
A big thanks to him for coming and speaking with us!
